 What is a District Attorney?

As one of 62 District Attorneys in New York State, David Foley has taken an oath to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and New York State.  As District Attorney of Chautauqua County it is Mr. Foley's obligation to seek justice for all residents.  It is his duty to use any reasonable, legal avenue to investigate charge, indict and convict those who break the law.

As Chautauqua County District Attorney, David Foley is the top law enforcement agent in the County.  As such, he prides himself on his close working relationship with all police agencies throughout Chautauqua County.

District Attorney Foley is committed to continuing to inform and educate all 135,000 residents of Chautauqua County about the role his office plays in the criminal justice system.
