MAYVILLE, N.Y.:-- The Chautauqua County Office for the Aging (OFA) is hosting “The A, B, C & D’s of Medicare” on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Dunkirk Senior Center, 45 Cliffstar Ct., in Dunkirk, N.Y. The workshop is for individuals who are new to Medicare, and caregivers who are assisting loved ones who will soon receive Medicare.
The workshop will be presented by the OFA’s Medicare Health Insurance Coordinator, Christine Cheronis. This presentation will offer information for those who are soon to be 65 years old and eligible for Medicare as well as for those who are currently on a disability and will be enrolled into Medicare automatically after 24 months. The workshop will cover Medicare Part A hospital coverage, Medicare Part B medical coverage, Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage, when to enroll into Medicare, how to “Opt Out” of Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage insurance plans, supplemental (medigap plans) and cost-saving programs such as EPIC and the Medicare Savings Program. There will be a question and answer period following the presentation. This workshop is free to the public.
